Networking Made Easy

Many people want to set up home networks, but lack the expertise necessary to get their networks up and running. Networks may be as simple as two computers or as elaborate as thousands of computers all sharing resources.  Most home-users simply have a couple of computers that they want to connect to the Internet.  Sharing a broadband connection among computers is a relatively simple task, but without sufficient knowledge, setting up a network can be a very daunting task.  Many manufacturers make equipment to make networking easy for the home user, but none of them provide much support for the person who is just starting out and has no idea of how to make their networking equipment work.  The purpose of this site  is to try to make networking understandable to the average person.  My personal choice of equipment is Linksys but you can use any of the other brands that you choose, you will just have to adapt the information provided here to fit your own choice of networking equipment.

Today, wireless networking has become the network option of choice because computers, printers, scanners and other networked equipment may be located anywhere within the home or office that you desire.  You are no longer limited to having to run wiring to support your network.  Simply stated, with today's modern networking equipment available to you, you may use any room you choose as long as you have coverage from your wireless router.  Extending the distance may be accomplished using wireless access points set to communicate with each other.  Networking in today's world is easy and fun if you approach it with the right attitude.
